Abstract

In my comments I shall confine myself to what Rorty says about transcendental arguments as such and to his discussion of Davidson's argument that is, according to Rorty, "a transcendental argument to end all transcendental arguments' (p. 78). So I will leave out what Rorty says about pragmatism and naturalized epistemology, partly because the critique of transcendental philosophy from these philosophical points of view is well known, partly because Rorty raises issues which will be discussed as well in other papers of the symposion.
