Forgotten and neglected solutions of problems in philosophical logic

The purpose of this paper is to show that there are a number of important solutions (or partial solutions) to philosophical and logical problems which are very widely unknown or forgotten. I shall show this by giving examples from the history of philosophy. The logical reconstruction of the philosophical or logical text is mine. The amount of interpretation and construction necessary differs from text to text. Thus for instance in the first two examples (Aristotle's denial of a first genus and Paulus Venetus' proposed solution of the Liar) not much more than correct formulation in symbolic language was required because the text itself is rather complete. On the other hand interpretation and reconstruction are necessary for the third and fourth examples, similarly for the last two examples.
