Abstract

The Rig-Veda is one of the most important religious texts of India; actually it is sup-posed to be the most important one. (In the year 2007 manuscripts of the Rig-Veda were added to the UNESCOWorldHeritage List.) As the oldest text of Vedic Sanskrit it is of invaluable significance for various fields of research as it is also the oldest attested text of Indo-Iranian and one of the oldest texts of all the Indo–European languages.
