Abstract

In 1984 Il cogito e l'ermeneutica concluded on the prospect of a hermeneutics which would be solidary with a transforming, freeing praxis and, while interpreting the "works' of freedom against the opaque background of living, fraught with suffering, would itself come forward as an exercise in liberty and a freeing practice.¹
