Abstrakt

I came to this study from a love for phenomenology and specifically for Husserl's descriptions of internal time-consciousness, which move me as both beautiful and profound. The Phenomenology of Internal Time-Consciousness offers a paradigmatic example of phenomenological description which, as phenomenology of phenomenology, is of crucial significance. Reading Derrida's criticisms of internal time-consciousness in his classic essay "Speech and Phenomena," I find them seriously flawed. At the same time, I find other deconstructions effective.¹
