The concept of universal has been formulated in various ways to solve various types of problems, to serve various, often conflicting purposes. So a formulation specially suited to solve one type of problem, fails, for that very reason, to solve other, conflicting, types of problems. From the very nature of the case it would appear impossible to have one concept to do all of the work which is naively expected of it.
