Abstract

Let us assume the following picture: The philosophizing of the early Wittgenstein is like being situated on one riverside and the philosophical investigations of the late Wittgenstein are located on the other side. Does an infinitely wide river prevent getting to the other side and back? Or is there any kind of bridge that allows us not only to connect both sides but also making to ourselves a picture of the whole landscape? Within our language of analysis we can use the concept harmony to describe Wittgenstein's early and late positions in close contact with his intermediate period. Two other concepts can be added to our language in order to characterize five different concepts of harmony in more detail: codex and strategy. The harmony of family resemblance is the most general form integrating all the other forms from a philosophical perspective.
