Abstrakt

Starting with an outline of the landscape of radio in the Federal Republic of Germany, with its Formatradio, development of the radioplay in the nineties is presented by short descriptions of numerous examples. Apart from the word-orientation of new plays, irritating alienated views are shown to prevail, people in borderline cases are potrayed, the ›normality‹ of every day life is questioned again and again. There are new examples of acoustic non-narrative radio plays. New forms of connecting words with music and the dynamic montage of cultural questions are tried out. Radioplay of the nineties, with its experimental forms of production, sees itself on the way to a new esthetical autonomy.
