Abstrakt

Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS or TNS) is a noninvasive and nondestructive method for the treatment of chronic as well as acute pain states. During the past 10 years numerous reports on its therapeutic range have been published [1–4, 6–10]. This paper summarizes the pain-relieving effect of TNS in 124 amputees treated by different departments and at different times for up to 3 years.
