The term "philosophy of nature" has recently acquired new significance. A new scientific philosophy, arising from the results of scientific research and dedicated to rigorous standards, is beginning to take shape. It has offered unexpected solutions to a number of old problems and has raised several novel questions whose existence had been overlooked at earlier times. The status of this new philosophy of nature is the topic of the following investigation.
