Since 1900, a considerable number of philosophical works have been published on the relation between facts and values. Are facts totally separated from values, or is there some intrinsic or intimate relation between facts and values? The traditional division between "is' and "ought", outlined by David Hume, suggests one major approach to this issue. Yet while a number of scholars have worked on this subject, research continues, and the possibility of a new way to approach the subject is still open
